McGrath doubtful for Champions Trophy comeback
July 5th 2006 09:11
We all miss the Pidgeon, and we'll miss him even more, with recent reports that veteran Australian paceman Glenn McGrath will miss the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy (a pointless one-day tournament involving the leading cricket playing nations), which is scheduled in just prior to the Ashes. With concerns over his future, McGrath has played back any notion
that he is not up to his game, warning the English that he has 'been working working on a number of things which will make me [McGrath] an even better bowler come the start of the Ashes' (Source: CricInfo).
So with sights purely aimed on a McGrath comeback during the Ashes series, we must speculate how his form will be, and ultimately, how effective will the Pidgeon against the likes of Pieterson and co. come November. I guess time will tell, but for now, lets just wait in eager anticipation for the return of one of Australia's greatest pacemen ever to grace the field .
